Midland District Graded Meet 2016 - (Short Course)

September 27, 2016

5th & 6th November 2016

Venue – Olympia Leisure Centre, Dundee

The meet information can be found HERE and the entry form can be found HERE. Entries close at 10.00pm on Sunday, 9th October 2016. No late entries will be accepted – no exceptions!

This is a Graded meet, which means that there are consideration times for all events. Check the meet information for full details. Entry times must be slower than the published times, not faster.

If your swimmer is entering this gala, please volunteer to assist. If you are a Timekeeper or STO put your name down for as many sessions as you can. If you are not yet a qualified Timekeeper please simply volunteer to assist. Many of our senior swimmers will be competing in Inverness the same weekend and as a result a number of our usual Timekeepers and STOs will not be available for the Dundee meet. Please don’t think that someone else will come forward, do it yourself. Perth are required to provide a number of non-technical volunteers over the weekend, particularly on the Saturday so don’t be shy and offer your service via the entry form.

If you have problems with entering via the online form, please contact John Rough.

Sponsored Swim

September 13, 2016

Congratulations to all 73 swimmers who took part in the sponsored swim held on Friday 26th August. A massive effort was put in by the swimmers and between them they managed to complete a total of 4316 lengths. That's almost 110 kilometres!

Some of you have put in your well earned sponsored money (thank you). If you haven't collected your money yet, can we please ask that you hand it in by the end of September.

We would like to thank all the swimmers, parents and coaches who helped on the night to count up all those lengths.

Jules, Paula & Anne. (The Fundraising Team)

Division 1 Leagues Gala

September 12, 2016

Well done to all the Perth City swimmers who took part in this years’ Division 1 Leagues Galas.  Without a full team on Saturday night, the swimmers did extremely well and we came in 2nd on the night.  Not one DQ on the night, so congratulations to all our swimmers for swimming well.

The final results of 2016 for Division 1 was:-

 DCA – 765 points

Perth City – 704.5 points

Blairgowrie – 638.5 points

Kinross – 633 points

Montrose – 564 points

A special thank you must go to all the parents who kindly took all our swimmers + offcials through to Montrose on Saturday afternoon, due to our bus not turning up.  Also a big thank you to all the coaches and club officials, who have gone along to any of the Leagues Galas.

BBQ & Duck Race 2016

September 5, 2016

Many thanks to everyone who came along and gelped make this social event such a great success!

We had lovely sunshine (again)! We enjoyed plenty of games, a hard fought tug-of-war, lot's of food and drink and the exciting duck race. We also raised the fantastic sum of £410 for club funds.

Duck race winners were;

1st - Joan Pitts

2nd - Ian Martin

3rd - Lucy McPartland

Last duck - Moraig Macdonald

Special thanks to everyone who helped on the day, those who provided amazing baking, our fantastic bbq chefs and to Andy Cummins for, once again, helping everyone work up an appetite.

Thanks again,

The Fundraising Team

A reminder on membership and competition: if you're competing in a British Swimming; Scottish Swimming; ASA; or WASA National event, in any discipline excluding Masters; or competing for GB or your Home Country internationally, you must fill in and return a Scottish Swimming medical declaration form every year.

Should any medication you are taking change throughout the year, you need to send a new, updated form immediately. You can find it on the membership pages on the Scottish Swimming Website, under members > 'membership forms'. Send it back to the address shown on the form.

Reminder Re Gala Entry Fees

February 17, 2015

The club’s policy is that all fees for accepted and reserve swims (where a reserve swimmer is given a swim) are due within 7 days of the gala taking place. Payment should be by cheque or cash and placed in the club mail box in an envelope clearly labelled with the swimmer’s name and the name of the competition. In accordance with the Club Constitution, entries from swimmers for whom outstanding fees from previous meets have not been paid will NOT be accepted until the debt is cleared.

The Committee therefore recommends that all outstanding fees from past galas should be settled immediately.
