Data Protection Law is changing and we want to keep you up to date with the steps Perth City Swim Club is taking.

On 25th May the General Data Protection Regulation, know as GDPR comes into effect and replaces the current data protection law. GDPR imposes additional obligations on organisation, including sports clubs and gives you extra rights around how your data is used.

Does it apply to our club?

The club will be “controllers” of personal data (for example name, address, date of birth) that we collect, store, share and delete (this is known as “processing” of personal data). The club processes personal data of our members, parents, volunteers, committee members therefore the GDPR applies.

The regulation outlines 6 data protection principles that the club must comply with in relation to personal data:

  1. Processed lawfully, fairly and transparently
  2. Collected for specified, explicit and legitimate purposes
  3. Adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary
  4. Up to date and accurate
  5. Retained no longer than is necessary
  6. Protect personal data and keep it safe

Perth City Swim Club “the controller” Privacy Policy, available Here, provides more detail on our policy and explains when and why we collect personal information about people, how we use it, any conditions under which it may be disclosed and how it is kept secure.

Electronic Payments

March 13, 2018

Request from our hard-working Club Treasurer

As more and more payments to the club are made electronically, could you please assist by making it clear who and what each payment is for? It would really help if:

-Payments include surname in the reference
-Where you have more than one child swimming please take the time to arrange payments by individual swimmer rather than combining them into one transaction - this would be immensely helpful
-Please do not mix / combine payments for gala entries and merchandise, etc. For example reference: Smith-Swim cap or Smith-Carnegie

Thank you very much for your support with this. Any questions, please contact: Treasurer@perthcityswimclub.com

Training At Perth Leisure Pool

February 22, 2018

Some very important info for all mums, dads, carers and swimmers. Please note and share

1. Your Live Active card must be presented at reception every time you attend club sessions (this lets staff know how many people are checked-in in the event of an evacuation). You may be charged £3.65 Entry otherwise.

2. No loitering with your friends in cubicles, please. The changing village is a public area and everyone needs space to get changed

3. Only arrive downstairs 15 minutes before your session AND no sneaky swims in the other pool. Your training fees don’t cover use of the other pools, only your club sessions

4. If you have homework to do or want to wait on friends, feel free to wait upstairs at the viewing area.

5. A reminder to parents that club coaches can only supervise swimmers from the time they go onto poolside. At all other times and in all other areas of the building they remain in your care

Thank you for your co-operation.

Reminder Re Gala Entry Fees

September 18, 2017

The club’s policy is that all fees for accepted and reserve swims (where a reserve swimmer is given a swim) are due within 7 days of the gala taking place. Payment should be by cheque or cash and placed in the club mail box in an envelope clearly labelled with the swimmer’s name and the name of the competition. In accordance with the Club Constitution, entries from swimmers for whom outstanding fees from previous meets have not been paid will NOT be accepted until the debt is cleared.

The Committee therefore recommends that all outstanding fees from past galas should be settled immediately.
